1962 Gibson SG Les Paul Standard Ebony Block.
This staple in every rock guitarists arsenal was first introduced by Gibson in 1961 and was immediately very popular, although Les Paul didn’t actually like the shape and asked for his name to be removed from it. Gibson started marketing it as the SG (Solid Guitar) and eventually removed his name from the nameplates and truss-rods in 1963.
